At Teton Bird Dogs, we believe a great dog should be more than just a skilled hunter — they should be a loyal family companion, with a calm presence in your home, and a trusted teammate in the field.

We are a family-run kennel that lives and breathes German Shorthair Pointers. Our focus is on producing family-oriented, naturally driven GSPs that embody the perfect balance of athleticism, intelligence, and heart. Our dogs are bred to thrive both in the field and on your living room couch — equally capable of chasing wild birds and cuddling with your kids.
Located in the heart of the West, we are a family that trains, hunts, and raises dogs together. Our children help socialize the pups, and our dogs are part of our family. This hands-on approach ensures that every Teton Bird Dog is raised with the same values we live by — loyalty, purpose, and biddability.
We don’t focus on just one narrow niche of the sporting world. Instead, we pull from the best — combining bloodlines that have earned NAVHDA Utility and Versatile Champion titles, Field Trial Champions, Shoot-to-Retrieve Champions, AKC Master Hunters, and the truly irreplaceable wild bird dogs. Rather its American or German lines, these aren’t just flashy pedigrees — they’re proven performers with grit and soul.
What We Believe
We believe in a deliberate, three-part screening process for every breeding dog:

1. Disposition & Conformation: First and foremost, our dogs must have a sound temperament. They live in our home and around our children, so stability, friendliness, and that legendary “off switch” are non-negotiable. With over a decade in breeding, we value and take great pride in the GSP appearance we have worked so hard to perfect.

2. Field Work & Hunt Ability: Drive without chaos. Intelligence without stubbornness. We select dogs who are naturally cooperative and love to work with their handler. Ranging between 20–200 yards, our dogs are versatile, biddable, and focused with a natural pray drive.

3. Health & Genetics: We take health seriously. Every breeding dog is OFA certified or prelimmed with a rating of GOOD or better, our dogs are Paw Print Genetics panel clear for the breed. This clears our dogs of Cone Degeneration, Degenerative Myelopathy, Hyperuricosuria, and Von Willebrand Disease II. We also include a 2-Year Limited Genetic Health Guarantee covering hips, heart, eyes, and all genetic conditions listed.
We combine the proven bloodlines of Hall of Fame dogs, champion competitors, and working legends to produce the next generation of versatile GSPs. But titles don’t raise a pup — people do. That’s why all of our puppies are family-raised and well-socialized from day one. They’re born into a home environment, exposed to children, noise, and routine, and given the care and confidence to thrive with you.
